About Rachel 

Hi, I am Rachel. I Live in Colchester, Essex with my husband, our 2 young boys and our dog. I spend a lot of time outdoors exploring the world through their eyes. I love living near various coastlines in Essex and other places of beauty.

My main passions in life are music, dancing, long walks and spending time with my family and friends. I am a big softey when it comes to animals and have been known to rescue a quite a few creatures in my time! 


I have always been interested in theatre and music. I studied performing arts which naturally led me into my other role as a DJ. I play soul, funk, motown, disco and house and I currently host a weekly radio show. 


I love meeting new people, I am really friendly and a great listener. I think meeting for a coffee and a chat is a great way for us to get to know each other. 


Being an independent celebrant means I get to combine some of my favourite things, creative writing, visiting new places, meeting people and delivering the best script I can for your ceremony.

I love my job and it is an honour to be asked to be a part of any ceremony

I love writing about YOU – you are unique and should be able to celebrate your way.

A good celebrant will be able to listen to you and give you advice and examples of how to create your unique ceremony. They will deliver something that is personal for you to make your day memorable.

A celebrant led ceremony gives you the freedom to hold this where you want, when you want. It gives you the chance to celebrate how you want. You can include any traditions, ritual, religious or spiritual elements you want or none at all. It is your ceremony and will be exactly what you want. 

I offer weddings, civil partnerships, naming, vow renewals, blessings, funerals and memorial services as well as other ceremonies, you are not limited and can make any occasion a reason. 

I am able to travel throughout Essex, Suffolk and London and other locations on request.

I am a fully qualified celebrant (Level 3 diploma).

I am a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants (AOIC)

I am fully insured (public liability and public indemnity insurance) I can provide copies of insurance on request.

Bespoke Ceremonies personalised for you 


I am able to perform a range of celebrant ceremonies including but not limited too weddings, civil partnerships, funeral and memorial services, naming and children ceremonies and I offer a completely bespoke service for you.


When I am working with you I am very keen to get to know you on a personal level and I am always on the other end of the phone for advice or to answers any questions you may have


As a trained celebrant I am able to write and conduct any ceremony including weddings, funerals, memorials, naming ceremonies, vow renewals or even marking a personal milestone or achievements. You could celebrate a milestone birthday, a retirement or even a divorce. Blended family ceremony’s are a popular choice for step families coming together with their children and marking the occasion. 


I love creative writing and I tailor bespoke ceremonies for you. I am a great listener and enjoy finding out all about you and what is special to you, that way I can ensure everything important to you is in your day.

Writing songs is another passion of mine and something I have done to a hobby for many years.


I love all types of ceremonies, whether you would prefer a more traditional affair, something unique, alternative, or downright wacky. I am able to celebrate the weird and wonderful as well as embracing more traditional ways. 


One of the joys of working with a celebrant if you are only limit is your imagination!

I can celebrate any culture, faith, belief or religion and I am able to include as much or as little or your celebrated faith in your ceremonies as you want.

Equally if you are looking for a more traditional ceremony or looking for something classy and classic I can recommend traditional rituals that would suit your day.

My fees are listed below and include:


Funeral / memorial service from £250

(if you want to work with me and I am not listed with your funeral directors you can let your funeral director know you would like to work with me and they can include me in their price, I will then liaise with them alongside you)

Weddings from £525

Vow renewals from £435

Naming / rites of passage/ other ceremonies starting from £375

If you are looking to add something special to your ceremony such as a handfasting, a sand ceremony, planting a tree or others there may be an additional charge for this, however you can take this home as a special memory of your day. Prices for each ritual can be quoted at the time of booking
