Hi, I am Rachel. I Live in Colchester, Essex with my husband, our 2 teenage boys and our dog. I spend a lot of time outdoors exploring the world through their eyes. I love living near various coastlines in Essex and other places of beauty.
My main passions in life are music, dancing, long walks and spending time with my family and friends. I am a big softey when it comes to animals and have been known to rescue a quite a few creatures in my time!
I have always been interested in theatre and music. I studied performing arts which naturally led me into my other role as a DJ. I play soul, funk, motown, disco and house and I currently host a weekly radio show.
I love meeting new people, I am really friendly and a great listener. I think meeting for a coffee and a chat is a great way for us to get to know each other.
Being an independent celebrant means I get to combine some of my favourite things, creative writing, visiting new places, meeting people and delivering the best script I can for your ceremony.

Being a celebrant is more than just a job for me—it’s an absolute privilege. Every ceremony is unique, and I feel truly honoured to be part of such special moments in people’s lives.
I take the time to listen, understand, and craft a ceremony that reflects you—your story, your values, and your wishes. Whether it’s a wedding, civil partnership, naming ceremony, vow renewal, blessing, funeral, or memorial, I’m here to create something deeply personal and meaningful.
A celebrant-led ceremony gives you the freedom to celebrate where, when, and how you want. You can include any traditions, rituals, or spiritual elements that feel right for you—or none at all. There are no limits—it’s about making your moment truly yours.
As the Regional Representative for the AOIC in Essex and Suffolk, I’m proud to be part of a professional, supportive community of celebrants. I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Celebrancy and am fully insured for public liability and professional indemnity.

I offer a wide range of celebrant-led ceremonies, including weddings, civil partnerships, funerals, memorial services, naming ceremonies, vow renewals, and more. Every ceremony I create is completely bespoke, designed to reflect you, your story, and your values.
Getting to know you on a personal level is so important to me. I’m always just a phone call away for advice, support, or to answer any questions you may have.
As a trained celebrant, I can craft and conduct any type of ceremony—even marking personal milestones such as a special birthday, retirement, or even a divorce. Blended family ceremonies are also a wonderful way for stepfamilies to come together and celebrate their new journey.
I have a passion for creative writing, ensuring that every ceremony is heartfelt, meaningful, and truly unique. My love for writing even extends to song-writing, which has been a personal passion of mine for years.
Whether you envision a traditional ceremony, something modern and elegant, or a bold and unconventional celebration, I embrace it all! There are no limits—your imagination is the only boundary.
I welcome and honour all cultures, faiths, beliefs, and traditions, incorporating as much or as little as you wish. If you are looking for a more spiritual or alternative ceremony, I can suggest a range of rituals to make your day truly special.

Our consultation/planning meeting. This include a face to face appointment or a virtual call on a platform of your choice
Unlimited phone calls, messages, and email contact throughout.
Creation of your personal bespoke ceremony
Personalised written script
Help writing personalised written vows / ring exchange wording and lots of ideas for both
I will offer advice and guidance of poems, music, readings, symbolic rituals
Liaising with your suppliers to ensure a smooth running ceremony
Conducting your ceremony
Keepsakes, such as your Wedding Certificate and Vows printed on a card
Aftercare after your event
Funeral / memorial service from £250
(if you want to work with me and I am not listed with your funeral directors you can let your funeral director know you would like to work with me and they can include me in their price, I will then liaise with them alongside you)
Weddings from £525
Vow renewals from £435
Naming / rites of passage/ other ceremonies starting from £375
If you are looking to add something special to your ceremony such as a handfasting, a sand ceremony, planting a tree or others there may be an additional charge for this, however you can take this home as a special memory of your day. Prices for each ritual can be quoted at the time of booking
